Hello Dear Friend,
Well, another week has rolled by, this week was full of rearranging myself. I have taken the decision to defer my OU studies for this year, I was becoming incredibly stressed by the course, so to save my mental health I have taken a step back.
This will give me time to focus on my Gansey research and pattern writing, which has had some fruitful leads of late, more of that coming up in my Isle of Wight Gansey Substack.
Also, I have been very busy creating knitted animals for a Christmas fair, which will be on the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd December at Quay Arts in Newport, Isle of Wight, and to go in to my Folksy Shop - if you would like an animal made for you please get in touch, time is fast approaching for last posting dates.
Thanksgiving
This is not a holiday we celebrate in the UK, but I am aware that it is Thanksgiving this week for those across the pond. I am also aware that there are many different ways that this holdiday is approached. This online article explores Unthanksgiving Day: A Celebration of Indigenous resistance to Colonalism, although it is more commonly known now as the Indigenous Peoples Thanksgiving Sunrise Gathering.
However you celebrate, or don’t, I wish you a happy holiday with friends and family and hope that it is not too fraught a time for you. Family gatherings of this kind have a tendency to catapult you back into the dynamics of a group of people who no longer really know who you are as a person, they just remember how you were, 10, 20, 30, plus years ago.
I am sending you lots of love and light as you navigate this.
Continuing the Hierarchy - Cherubim
The Cherubim are the Second Choir or Tier of Angels.
Genisis states 3:24 that ‘he (God) placed at the East of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.’ This is the first mention of the Cherubim in the bible, or any angels in fact. What do the Cherumbim look like? Well, there are differing opinions on this. ‘In the original Hebrew form they have four wings, four faces and are often depicted as being the Bearer’s of God’s Throne and His Charioteers.’ From Malcom Godwin’s book - Angels, An Endangered Species. It was the Hebrew prophet Ezekiel who saw that they had four faces and four wings. The Cherubim are also thought to be in charge of guarding the stars, the moon, and the sun, to be extremely intelligent and have great wisdom. Similar to the Seraphim, the Cherubim also send out a vibration which is one of knowledge and wisdom.
The named angels in the Cherubim include - Gabriel, Cherubiel, Ophaniel, Raphael, Uriel, Zophiel, and Satan (before his fall).
The Bread Witch
Julie Russell, aka The Bread Witch is running some Thursday morning baking sessions. It is a gentle way to start the day, you gather at 7.30am UK to make your bread (or whatever you are baking), knead it and leave it to rise. Then we usually break for an hour, then return to finish the bread. We chat, share recipes, and stories. For more information click here. If you follow her on Eventbrite you will receive notifications of her singing events, Julie is a very talented Folk singer. Julie also has a Substack called My Eccentric Life, and I am sure you will enjoy it.
Until next time, as ever, may your angels and guides watch over you and protect you until we meet again.
Love and Light,
Guided By Angels will always be free to subscribers. If you enjoy it please click the like button, that way I know someone is reading it, or please share it with someone who might enjoy it.
There is the option now to become a paid subscriber if you would like to support these Sunday Letters in that way, or you could consider buying me a cup of tea.
