Hello Dear Friend,
How are you doing today? How is it September? It snuck up on me while I wasn’t paying attention… The year seems to be racing away, or is it just that I am too busy? I’ll ponder that one…
Any hoo, it is the time of the month for the group tarot reading, I will be using the *Llewellyn Tarot Deck.
Are you ready? Then I will dive right in…
This month’s spread
I have used the usual three-card spread, Embrace/Accept/Release or Let Go. It seems to work for most of you, as ever take what you feel is aimed at you. Disregard anything that doesn’t fit, and above all, if the card speaks to you differently, then go with that.
The Cards
Card 1 - Embrace - Nine of Wands
On the face of it, this is not a happy-looking card. The person depicted has definitely been through the wars, they are battered, bruised and bandaged.
But… They are still standing, facing the future or whatever is coming their way with a steady determined look. As this card appears in the embrace position I feel it is asking you to acknowledge all you have been through so far and acknowledge your strength. The other thing this card warns about is do you have too many things on your plate. Wands represent things to do - busy-ness if you like. So although you are capable, be mindful of the straw which broke the camel’s back. Yes, you can cope with everything that life throws at you, but remember, you do not need to do it alone, accept your strength, but also accept that you need support from time to time. Help is always out there, you just need to ask for it.
Card 2 - Accept - King of Swords
The King of Swords, sitting on his throne, the sword is pointing upwards indicating truth. He is a powerful figure sitting there. He represents power, knowledge, and authority. Does he represent you? Do people ask your advice or pick your brains for information about a particular subject? Does this frustrate you? Or do you freely help and share the knowledge? This card is asking you to accept that you have the knowledge and the power to help others in some way. Think about it, what are you well versed in? How do you use your knowledge? But, don’t forget to think about how you feed your mind.
So, accept you are someone who people ask for help, enjoy helping them, but also don’t forget there are others out there who are willing to share their knowledge with you too.
Card 3 - Let Go or Release - King of Cups
The King of Cups, why is it I always think of a nice fish pie when I see this card… But, I digress.
This King represents intelligence, influence, emotions, and intuition. He represents a father figure, one who can influence, for better or worse, those around him.
The Wild CardTarot book sums it up best -
‘At their best, a King of Cups recognises when to step back from the furnace of their own feelings in order to help someone else grow into their own. But when they use their influence to demand that their own needs be priotitised, they can suffocate the emotional lives of those whom they ought to be nurturing.’
p72, Wild Card by Jen Cownie and Fiona Lensvelt.
As it has appeared in the spot for Release/Let Go, I wonder, is there someone you need to support in order for them to go out into the world by themselves? This time of the year is when the younger members of the family either start or return to University. Is that it? Or is someone leaving home for a different reason? A new job? How can you support them, or is it yourself who needs the support? Is there a King of Cups in your life who you would like support from? Maybe release any fears you have, either for yourself or someone else, and allow them the emotional freedom to go out into the world.
Summary
So to sum up this month’s cards -
Embrace - acknowledge your strength, but be careful not to take on too much.
Accept - that you have knowledge that others may need, or perhaps that you need from someone else.
Let Go - of any need to emotionally control a situation or a person, and allow them (or yourself) to grow with your support.
As ever these are just my ramblings and are not set in stone, take what you need from the reading and use it. If the cards resonate with you differently, go with it. Your heart and soul know what is best for you. Follow the nudges and messages from Spirit and the angels, remember, the more you pay attention, the more you will see.
I will be back on Sunday with my usual letter to you dear friend, until next time, as ever, may your angels and guides watch over you and protect you until we meet again.
