Hello Dear Friend,
How are you? Well, I hope, can I just ask - how is it September already? Before you know it will be time for Ho-Ho-Ho’s and pumpkin spiced everything…
But, for now, it is time for the monthly community Tarot reading. The Monthly Tarot reading will now come out in a separate email on the last day of the month. Just in time for all you organised folks like to plan for the coming month. I always want to do that, but somehow it always feels a bit seat of the pants… ;0) I am just not that organised, full of good intentions, but a bit patchy on the follow-through.
Are you ready? Then I will dive right in…
This month’s spread
I chose something slightly different for this month’s reading - Where You are, What You’ve Learnt, and What You Still Need To Do, so please bear those questions in mind as you read or listen to this letter.
The cards which came out were as follows:
Ten of Swords
Knight of Cups
Queen of Swords
Now let’s dive in and dissect their meanings.
The Cards
Card 1 - Ten of Swords - Where You Are
Now, this is a dark and gloomy card, it portrays a woman washed up on the rocks at the edge of a stormy ocean and surrounded by swords which seem to imprison her there in that desolate spot.
It looks gloomy as I say, it looks hopeless as if she has been swept away by the waters of life and dashed against the rocks. She looks exhausted, too tired to even raise her head up, it is as if she has been through so much she has given up.
But, and yes there is a but here - if she lifts her head she would see there is a gap in the swords and is that just possibly a sunrise beginning in the distance? Is this you? Or does it represent someone you know? Have you been through some emotional turmoil or feel like withdrawing from the world around you? Has there been conflict, loss, failure of plans or breakdowns in relationships? If this is you I am sending you lots of love and healing light to help you along your way.
Remember it is always darkest before dawn, but, there is always hope, and light. Think carefully about this, are you really ok? Or are you just saying that? If you need to talk, reach out to someone, it may help you to see the light breaking through the storms.
Card 2 - Knight of Cups - What You’ve Learnt
There is a bit of a watery theme with these first two cards. The Knight of Cups is a force of nature, charging in from the sea to bring you energy, to bring you hope and love. This card represents someone with a lot of feelings, basically, if a golden retriever could be a person, this would be them. Bouncy, heart on their sleeve, full of enthusiasm, think of Tigger, bouncy, bouncy, but in an emotional way. Is this you? Do you know someone like this?
Ask yourself if you need to follow your own feelings and emotions, possibly to a new beginning, a new shoreline, or do you need to stand firm and let it wash over you, taking from it what you need.
Only you know the answer to this question.
Card 3 - Queen of Swords - What You Still Need to Do
This card depicts the Queen, seated on her throne, gazing out across her kingdom, an eagle carved into her throne and also one flying high above her. She looks settled, and self-possessed, but always ready for battle.
She reflects a confident, independent, clever, no-nonsense woman who doesn’t suffer fools gladly. This Queen will tell it to you straight, she will not shy away from the truth, or sugarcoat it. She represents brutal honesty and healthily expressed anger, even if it upsets others.
She is asking you if you are able to be direct and honest with people. Are you allowing yourself to feel anger? Are others?
What would happen if you stopped saying everything was alright and began to speak your truth? The Queen of Swords asks you to find that quality within yourself, to use her strength to face whatever is coming, or whatever needs to be dealt with.
Summary
Well, it feels like we have been through the wringer a bit, emotional turmoil and exhaustion, but it seems the worst has passed by now. The Knight has come to lend you his energy and emotional strength and the Queen wants to give you the courage to face what is yet to come. To face it with honesty and a steely determination, taking control back, but remember behind these cards there was the message of honesty and speaking your truth - not just brushing it under the carpet, with an ‘I’m fine, really, thanks for asking.’ Be brave, allow the Queen to empower you, and allow her to lend you her confidence as you move forwards on your journey.
As ever these are just my ramblings and are not set in stone, take what you need from the reading and use it. If the cards resonate with you in a different way, go with it. Your heart and soul know what is best for you. Follow the nudges and messages from spirit and the angels, remember, the more you pay attention, the more you will see.
I will be back on Sunday with my usual letter to you dear friend, until next time, as ever, may your angels and guides watch over you and protect you until we meet again.
Love and Light,
Tracy

Books I use to help me with the cards:
*Wild Card - Let The Tarot Tell Your Story, by Jen Cownie and Fiona Lensvelt. This book has a straight-talking no-nonsense approach to the cards of the tarot.
*The Llewellyn Tarot Deck and Companion book, by Anna-Marie Ferguson
This is a beautiful deck, and my favourite, the imagery is based on the myths legends and culture of Medieval Wales.

Goodbye.
Thank you, Tracy, I read this earlier in the week and again today. It has resonated deeply with me and brought comfort and determination.
Just what I needed, and it seems that all three apply to what has been going on for me. I definitely will be needing the steely determination and truth telling of the Queen of Swords throughout this entire month with visits to family, and an event in the works that has me feeling out of my comfort zone!
