Hello Dear Friend,
Well, it is official, I have submitted my last assignment for my Open University course for this academic year. I just have lots of reading to do before the next module starts in October. Phew, I feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. My next major task is to finish the traditional Gansey jumper commission, I hope to have it done by the end of the month, or at the very latest, the end of next week. There will be lots of knitting in my future…
Scientists Prove DNA Can Be Reprogrammed By Our Own Words
I came across an article on Universal Lighthouse Blog all about how our DNA can be reprogrammed with our own words. It is a fascinating read, all based on the book: “Vernetzte Intelligenz” (Networked Intelligence), by Grazyna Fosar and Franz Bludorf. It is only available in German at the moment, but maybe this is the time to dust off my German dictionaries and give it a go… ;0)
A rather long quote here from the article:
The authors also quote sources presuming that in earlier times humanity had been, just like the animals, very strongly connected to the group consciousness and acted as a group.
To develop and experience individuality we humans however had to forget hyper communication almost completely.
Now that we are fairly stable in our individual consciousness, we can create a new form of group consciousness, namely one, in which we attain access to all information via our DNA without being forced or remotely controlled about what to do with that information.
We now know that just as on the internet our DNA can feed its proper data into the network, can call up data from the network and can establish contact with other participants in the network.
Remote healing, telepathy or “remote sensing” about the state of relatives etc.. can thus be explained. From the book mentioned above - Vernetzte Intelligenz
Is this why so many of us are now looking to meditation, and spiritual connections? Is humanity on a return path to some kind of collective knowing and collective connection? It is intriguing stuff.
But also, remember to speak kindly to yourself - your DNA is listening…
Niksen - the Dutch approach to Busy-ness
You have probably heard of Hygge but had you heard of Niksen?
I hadn’t, it popped up on a BBC newsletter this week, and apparently, it has been a ‘thing’ since 2019, why does that not surprise me? Covid combined with burnout anyone?
In the article Olga Mecking says:
In my book Niksen: Embracing the Dutch Art of Doing Nothing, I define it as "doing nothing without a purpose" – so not scrolling on Facebook or engaging in meditation. Whereas mindfulness is about being present in the moment, niksen is more about carving out time to just be, letting your mind wander wherever it wants to go. And as we're slowly recovering after the pandemic, it's important to rethink the way we work and spend our time.
Again intriguing, the thought of doing nothing for nothing’s sake…
Her book is available on Amazon second-hand for about £7 if you are interested in taking a peek. If you would like to find out more about the author, her LinkedIn profile is here
Things catching my eye this week:
Lions Club International #PeacePoster 2023
I love this image of the #PeacePoster it reflects my imagining of how we are all interconnected in this world, even if we are not aware of that fact.
The Lions Club say:
"We are all members of the Earth community and we need each other to survive." Congratulations to the Grand Prize Winner of the 2021-22 Lions Clubs International #PeacePoster Contest: Anja Rožen, 13, sponsored by Slovenj Gradec Lions Club (Slovenia)!
Lions clubs have been sponsoring the Peace Poster Contest in their communities' schools and youth groups for over three decades. Learn more here
I love the sharing of the vision for our world by the youngsters, they are the future after all.

Until next time, as ever, may your angels and guides watch over you and protect you until we meet again.
Love and Light,
Tracy

Meditations on the way we speak to ourselves
I love the idea of Niksen. Reminds me of a new word I learned this week from a friend who lives on a houseboat - coddiwomple - “to travel in a purposeful manner towards a vague destination” - I love this! A bit like flaneuring. Too much rushing around is no good for a body. I am planning a future with lots of knitting in it too 🧶 ❤️
