That is one of the questions that grabbed my attention when I started looking into meditation.
Spoiler alert - for me, I need to be guided, my mind wanders too much without someone’s voice gently asking me to visualise things.
I will say at the outset that I am a novice in meditation. Over my 50+ years on this planet I have tried Yoga briefly, I used to fall asleep in class; I guess I relaxed too much…
Tai Chi, I loved, not really sure why I stopped, but because of my bad knees I cannot take this up again, unless anyone knows of a chair based practice somewhere?
But I had never really tried meditation. It has always been out there on the edge of my mind that maybe I should try it, but my mind is so busy. Recently, in my quest to open up my vibrations to the angelic and spiritual realms and increase my spiritual awareness, I looked around for workshops and I found a quite a few online festivals/summits, thanks to those lovely hidden bots that gather our information. I’m never quite sure what to call these events. I’m sure you will have come across them. They last for a few days, packed with lots of sessions on different but related topics, free gifts and usually a bit of a hard sell at the end.
I have attended a few over the last couple of weeks, The Aquarian Wisdom Festival was fun, and I really enjoyed Denise Linn’s free mini course on Soul Coaching Oracle Card Reading. It doesn’t really trip off the tongue, does it? But it was great. I really like her style and the way she comes across.
Some of these sessions were powerful for me. I felt my energy changing. Other sessions not so much. I had no major epiphany, no tall stranger that they were my guide to all things mystical. Yet I hope that one day, maybe, that will happen. Probably when I least expect it.
When you investigate the other realms and the raising of conciousness, there are lots of rabbit holes to fall down. Do you look to the stars and planets, as some do? Or do you look to the realms of angels, unicorns, and other mythical creatures?
The one thing that most agree though is that there is an awakening on the horizon. A shift in the global conciousness, towards a higher vibration.
Where was I going with that? I’m not sure, but maybe I will revisit these other realms and the awakening in a future missive.
Back to meditation and raising of vibrations.
This week I am attending a series of sessions with Caroline Padgett, The Oracle Way. If you are interested, I will pop the link at the bottom of this newsletter. It ends this Friday 28th May. There are replays available for the days you missed, I am unsure how long the replays will be live. Although it is a guided meditation, please be aware that Caroline makes some strange noises during the sessions. But if you can relax and trust the process, it’s ok, I have found the sessions helpful.
Another one which I have signed up for is the Spirit and Soul Retreat, which starts Monday 31st May with Sigrid van Heerwaarden. I will let you know how I get on. Maybe if you join, you could share how you got on.
On a lighter note, I attended a guided online meditation this week with Lou Reed, of the Intuitive Medicine Institute. It was wonderful; I was floating along, listening to her voice, trying to visualise as instructed.
Until she asked us to send the light energy into our cosmic egg….
I’m sorry, but at that point there was an image in my mind of Mork and Mindy.
Nanoo, NaNoo!
Played by the wonderful Robin Williams and Pam Dawber. Readers of a certain age may remember the whacky show about an alien who lands on earth and is looked after by a kindly human. The series ran from 1978 to 1982 and I used to love it. There are clips available on You Tube, if you want to find out what on earth I am talking about, or just want to revisit a loved show.
Not only did that interrupt my flow, but that was when one of my cats jumped all over the desk, purring loudly and asking for fusses. That session was doomed, although I may go back and watch it again while the replays are available.
Overall, over the past few weeks these online gatherings have led me to discover some amazing people. Some who I have felt a connection to, others, well lets just say that their style is not mine. As ever with these things, follow your instinct, follow your heart and intuition. You know when something feels right, as Leroy Jethro Gibbs says, Follow your Gut.
Now all I need to do is practice. It is all very well doing these virtual events, but if I really want to benefit long term in opening myself up more fully to spirit, I need to incorporate it into my daily practice. I hope with practice that I can reach the higher vibrations with my ‘mind’. Although I guess really, it is our energy or chi that goes in search of these realms, whilst our body remains safely where we left it.
Until next time, may the Light and Love of your Angels and Guides be with you all.

'send the light energy into our cosmic egg….' Yep that would have done it for me too! Thanks for the giggle
