Hello Dear Friend,
This Sunday as I sit at my laptop writing this to you the wind is howling around outside and the clouds are gathering. We have had an unusually warm spell of weather, well unusual for the UK… It has gone from blisteringly hot (again I know that is relative) to quite cool and very blustery. This weekend marks the annual Isle of Wight Music Festival and the weather is always a worry - sunstroke to trench-foot. This year it may be a little of both.
But the garden is happy, and so am I. I spent a large part of last week sitting in the garden, meditating, reading, listening to audiobooks, and chasing the shade. Not today though. Friday was a great day, due to a mix-up as to the times I am able to use my disabled bus pass I left home early. So was able to join the London Writers Salon Writers Hour from Freshwater Bay before toddling off to my knit and natter group, which meets in my happy place The Freshwater Coffee House
This Past Week
I finished the Support Your Energy course last Saturday, run by the wonderful Dr Shuna Marr and her daughter Roslyn. It was lovely, I have a much wider knowledge of my energy and how to balance it going forwards. Thank you Shuna and Roslyn.
If you would like to find out more, there is a link at the bottom of this email.
I also finished listening to The Power of Ritual by Casper Ter Kuile, it is a wonderful overview of how we create our own rituals around different habits. But much more than this it is an appraisal of how we create communities around and for us. I will be listening to this book again.
Poetry
I came across this lovely reading of I Happened to be Standing by Mary Oliver, she is musing on prayer and its meanings. You can listen to it here
Next week I will tell you about a box of magik which came through the post this week. Full of spells and witchcraft, for research purposes of course… No really, I want to make the magik in my Angels book as real as I can and hope that this will help.
Also, I have just checked the dates for next week’s letter. Would you rather I sent the monthly tarot reading on the 1st day of every month or the last day? Which would mean an extra email being sent either Thursday or Friday next week. At the moment it gets wrapped up in the nearest (date-wise) Sunday letter, and sort of takes over. I would love to know your thoughts on this. You can let me know by reply or by leaving a comment.
Until next time, as ever, may your angels and guides watch over you and protect you until we meet again.
Love and Light,
Tracy
Things catching my eye this week:
Workshops Available
Dr Shuna Marr’s Support Your Energy workshop - I have just been through this course with Shuna and her daughter Roslyn, it is really good. This is my own humble opinion you understand, I am no expert, but I felt grounded and balanced after taking this course. More so than I have in a while.
What I am Reading:
I am just finishing *The Manningtree Witches by A K Blakemore - I have 60 pages to go…
Next up for the Historical Book Club is *Blood and Sugar by Laura Shepherd-Robinson - 18C - a tightly plotted thriller set in Georgian London, I will let you know how I get on. Our next meeting is on the 7th of July, so I have a couple of weeks to read it.
Listening:
*Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer is next on my listen-to pile. It has been in my audio library for a while, but I was reminded of it today - so I will take the nudge and start listening later today.
