Hello Dear Friend,
How are you? Really? I am here if you ever need to chat—just drop me a message. This can be a funny time of year. Memories seem sharper, and emotions just that little bit more raw and closer to the surface. Jo and I had a quiet festive period, just us and the cats. We were due to go off the island to a family get-together just before Christmas but the weather meant that all the car ferries were cancelled - unusually for almost the whole weekend. We will be meeting up with family sometime in the New Year instead.
It is the first day of the month, so Happy New Year! Welcome to 2025. I hope that 2025 brings you joy, love and laughter. 2024 was a mixed year for many of you, and I hope that those issues pass quickly with the New Year energy. Talking of energy, Diana Cooper is offering a free workshop via her YouTube Channel. It will be at 7 pm UK time on the 13th January. The title is ‘Boost to 6D Ascension and Build your Crystalline Heart, Brain and Light Body for the Golden Future’. The link to sign up is here
Now it is time for the monthly group tarot reading, I will, as usual, be using the *Llewellyn Tarot Deck.
Are you ready? Then I will dive right in…
This month’s spread
I have used a slight variation on the usual three-card spread, Stop Doing / Start Doing/ Continue Doing. It seemed appropriate for the first day of a new year. As ever take what you feel is aimed at you. Disregard anything that doesn’t fit, and above all, if the card speaks to you differently, then go with that.
The Cards
Card 1 - Stop Doing - Six of Swords
This card looks like you are moving on, but are unsure of the destination. The Six of Swords is a card of transition, of working through things and coming out the other side. The guidebooks say that it is a card which talks about how you navigate an issue, not the issue itself.
But the feeling I get from this card, in this position is that maybe you should stop moving on. Whether that is your job, your love life, or your home. Maybe moving on, into that unknown murky destination is not what you should be doing. Perhaps things will not be better on the other side. After all, although some things will undoubtedly be different, you will still be there. Check the reasons for moving on, or looking for change. Why are you doing it? Does it feel easier to move on? Rather than stay and work through things? The Six of Swords wants you to look at how you work through things. What is your process? What have you learnt from previous experiences? Are you able to let go of things that don’t serve you?
If you opt to work through things - please make sure you have people you can turn to for support, a listening ear, or maybe just a cuppa and a hug. There are folks who are there, all you have to do is ask them for support.
Card 2 - Start Doing - Justice
Justice - there she stands, strong, steadfast, holding out the scales of justice and her sword. (Lots of swords this month) In the position of Start Doing this card is asking you to weigh up your situation. Are you stuck on anything? Do you feel wronged? This card asks you to weigh up things carefully, to remain impartial and centered, bringing fairness to any judgement you make.
Remember that things will happen, balance will be restored, and then the cycle will begin again.
Card 3 - Continue Doing - Four of Swords
This card looks like a death-like event, deep, deep, sleep, watched over by veiled swords. Does it depict death? Or Dying?
The short answer is no…
This card is asking you to focus on quiet contemplation. So, did you start a meditation practice? Did you abandon it? Are you doing too much? The Four of Swords wants you to rest, sleep, or do something which allows you to switch off. Sleep is an important part of our overall health. If we don’t sleep we will literally die. A crucial part of caring for ourselves is to take time out. What works for you? Meditation? Yoga? Mindfullness? A creative practice - art/craft/creating?
Ensure that you continue this month to look after yourself, take small steps to rest and switch off from the hurly-burly of life. Your energetic body will thank you.
Summary
So to sum up this month’s cards -
Stop Doing - stop moving on or running away from situations, most times we end up taking the problem with us.
Start Doing - Start weighing up situations carefully, balancing your decisions with truth and integrity.
Continue Doing - Continue to take care of yourself and get enough rest.
As ever this is not set in stone, take what you need from the reading and use it. If the cards resonate with you differently, go with that. Your heart and soul know what is best for you. Follow the nudges and messages from Spirit and the angels, remember, the more you pay attention, the more you will see.
