Hello Dear Friend,
How are you doing today? Firstly apologies for the slight delay in getting this to you. Jo and I went to the Festival of Quilts show in Birmingham, and the day completely wiped me out. We were due to leave on the 6.30 am boat but received a text at 00.20 am to say it had been cancelled. Okay, but that meant we were getting there much later than we wanted. The show was amazing, and yes we bought more than we intended, but that is part of the show isn’t it? Texts kept arriving throughout the afternoon to say that due to the boat which had broken earlier there could be 3-5 hour delays on the return journey. Puffles. We arrived in time for the 8.15 pm boat and were surprised to see everything looking ok, the chap said there may be a 10-minute delay! Bonus. Can you tell this is not the end of the tale? After sitting in the car for 20 minutes, a very tired chap came around to say that another boat was now out of action… We would now be sailing on the 10 pm boat…
Long story short - we hopped out of the queue, went to get some dinner and then returned to get on the boat. Red Funnel is a bit of a shower at the moment, when we went home there was only one car ferry running between Southampton and the Isle of Wight. We made it home by 11.30 pm, needless to say, the cats were very pleased to see us. I have been recovering ever since. Yay, fatigue…
But anyway, enough of that drama…
How is it August? The year seems to be racing away, or is it just that I am too busy or just not paying attention? I hope it is because we all have such fabulous, wonderful, fun-filled lives that we haven’t noticed the year slide by so swiftly.
Anyhoo, it is the time of the month for the group tarot reading, I will be using the *Cat Tarot Deck this month.
Are you ready? Then I will dive right in…
This month’s spread
I have returned to the usual three-card spread, Embrace/Accept/Release or Let Go. It seems to work for most of you, as ever take what you feel is aimed at you. Disregard anything that doesn’t fit, and above all, if the card speaks to you differently, then go with that.
The Cards
Card 1 - Embrace - The Magician
The guidebook says - ‘The Magician straddles two worlds, one paw reaching skyward, two more on the ground, signifying the work of creativity. This is the magic of everyday invention. The circular snake reminds us that this is an infinite process in which matter is never truly created nor destroyed, just transmuted. The playthings represent the four elements and the four tarot suits, all the materials needed to make magic, or art. Add wisdom and purity represented by the red roses and white lilies and the spell is cast.’
This card asks questions about how you will be able to achieve your goals. ‘It represents an alignment of effort, intention, and the right conditions.’ (From Wild Card)
In the position of Embrace, this card asks you what are your goals, and how are you going to achieve them. Step into your power as the Magician and embrace your knowledge and strength to smash your goals.
Card 2 - Accept - Four of Cups
Cups - the suit of the emotions, relationships and again, creativity. Also, looking at the image on the card it is talking about choices. There are three dishes on the floor and another one is just coming into view… So are you being offered a choice in your life at the moment? Do you want whatever it is that is being offered? It could be a friendship, a contract, a creative opportunity, or even just an offer of help, whatever form that takes.
Appearing as it does in the Accept position, the decision is up to you. Will you accept the help or opportunity? Or will you accept that the time is not quite right now, and carry on as you were? What do you really want to do? Now is the time to be honest with yourself, and also to allow yourself permission to say no if it is not the right time.
Card 3 - Let Go or Release - King of Wands
The guidebook says: ‘You were born to lead, so it’s time to act like it. Take control of your life before leading others, but don’t hesitate to take advantage of an opportunity that presents itself. The King is pure fire, a natural role model, ruler of the jungle. Go roar.’
So more talk of opportunities, and bringing the energy of the King of Wands into your life. The King can be a bit full on, so only use as much of his energy as you feel comfortable with. Or do you already have someone who is like that in your life? In that case, use the King’s energy to fight fire with fire. The book Wild Tarot has some advice on this ‘The truth is that the only thing a King of Wands respects is another King of Wands. Which means if you have to take one on and you haven’t got your own to hand, your best bet is to try to look like one. And how do you do that? […] TELL NO LIES, SHOW NO FEAR. Don’t ever let them realise that they make you nervous… [ …] Stand your ground and hold your head high.’
So choices again with this card, on one hand, opportunities, on the other maybe someone who is hard to handle. Either way, you have got this. Accept the strength from the King of Wands and Let Go of the struggle. You have all you need to proceed, all the strength you need to make that decision or to deal with ‘that’ person.
Summary
So to sum up this month’s cards -
Embrace - The power of the Magician to help you achieve your goals.
Accept - The opportunities coming your way, or not, either way, accept that you have the choice and the ultimate decision lies with you.
Let Go - Of any struggle you are facing, be it from an opportunity, or a strong-minded person, you have got this, lean into the King of Wand’s strength and energy to help you through.
So, with lots of power, opportunities and decisions this month, you will be busy.
As ever these are just my ramblings and are not set in stone, take what you need from the reading and use it. If the cards resonate with you differently, go with it. Your heart and soul know what is best for you. Follow the nudges and messages from Spirit and the angels, remember, the more you pay attention, the more you will see.
I will be back next Sunday with my usual letter to you dear friend, until next time, as ever, may your angels and guides watch over you and protect you until we meet again.
