Hello Dear Friend,
How are you doing today? How is it nearly August? The year seems to be racing away, or is it just that I am too busy or just not paying attention? I will ponder that one…
Any hoo, it is the time of the month for the group tarot reading, I will be using the *Llewellyn Tarot Deck.
Are you ready? Then I will dive right in…
This month’s spread
I have used the usual three-card spread, Embrace/Accept/Release or Let Go. It seems to work for most of you, as ever take what you feel is aimed at you. Disregard anything that doesn’t fit, and above all, if the card speaks to you in a different way, then go with that.
The Cards
Card 1 - Embrace - Queen of Cups
Well, doesn’t she look serene, composed and confident in her power, sitting there on the throne with the power of the sea washing around her? This card, when she appears in a spread, usually stands for honesty, fair play, generosity and care. She is asking you to become aware of your inner intuition and empathy.
If you have a difficult situation around you, embrace her peace and empathy, and use the connection with her to repair connections outside and create understanding. It may allow you to heal the relationship, or your approach to the issue.
Card 2 - Accept - Ace of Swords
There is something a little Monty Python-esq about this arm clasping a sword in mid-air, or is that just me?
Seriously though, when reading the sword cards, the sword pointing up relates to truth energy, so bear that in mind as you contemplate this card. To me, this card always looks like it heralds a challenge or new adventure, perhaps a new journey. It doesn’t have to be a physical journey, it could be a development process or a new learning/educational experience.
The Ace of Swords speaks of new ideas, breakthroughs, mental clarity and overcoming obstacles by using your intellect. It also points towards action, cutting ties, clearing the air with confidence and conviction, in order to bring about a change.
Card 3 - Let Go or Release - Seven of Cups
Oh boy, so many choices, so many dreams, so many opportunities…
What is your dream?
Which should you choose?
All those butterflies point towards a beautiful transformation, so long as you make the right choice. The choice for your highest and greatest good.
But again, what to choose? It seems you could be overwhelmed with choice, confused by the possibilities of all the options before you.
As this card came up in the ‘Let Go’ position, maybe it is time to make a choice. To list all the options available to you, and check in with your intuition, or your gut feelings. Which of all the options speaks to your heart?
‘We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.’
Kurt Vonnegut, from Mother Night.
So ask yourself when considering which direction to go in - What would you do if you weren’t afraid?
Summary
So to sum up this month’s cards -
Embrace your confidence, your inner tranquillity and calm, and use that to work through any difficulties you may face. If you have no difficulties, perhaps just channel the Queen of Cups’ energy into a creative project, whatever you can do to forge connections and heal yourself.
Accept the adventure or challenge, taking note of any new ideas or breakthroughs which come up. Maybe it would involve you facing a situation that could benefit from a fresh perspective.
Let Go of those ambitions or daydreams which no longer serve you. Follow the butterfly to the cup or option which speaks deeply to you. Don’t become overwhelmed with the options.
As ever these are just my ramblings and are not set in stone, take what you need from the reading and use it. If the cards resonate with you in a different way, go with it. Your heart and soul know what is best for you. Follow the nudges and messages from Spirit and the angels, remember, the more you pay attention, the more you will see.
