My beliefs

Hello Dear Friend,

As I type this looking out of my window I can see blue skies, smudges of white cloud and some pigeons in the tree opposite. Inside we are in a slightly darker place as one of our furry crew had to be taken for her final visit to the vets on Saturday. How can such a small creature leave such a huge hole in our lives? She had been diagnosed a couple of weeks ago with a degenerative neurological condition, which they could do nothing for. She suffered from collapses, but she would be fine, we were told, until she started to have fits. Well, that day was Saturday. I know she is still with us, I felt her brush my leg this morning while I had my breakfast, and I know I will see her again after I leave this mortal realm, but, here and now, it is hard.

This week I would like to talk about angels, I had a very interesting email from Celine who is also on Substack, and I think you may find her posts interesting too. They can be found here. Celine, if you are reading or listening to this, I will be in touch. Celine wanted to know my views on Angels - what I actually thought they were, and if we each had a guardian angel, so this Sunday Letter hopes to begin to answer that question.

Guardian Angels

What do I believe about Guardian Angels?

I believe we all have them, and that they are energy beings who have never lived an earthly life. They watch over us, try to guide us with gentle nudges, and send us unconditional love, always. I don’t think I have ever knowingly seen or felt their presence, but I have faith that they are there, walking beside me as I navigate this life.

I am also not sure if we have one to ourselves, or if they look after others too. What are your thoughts on this? I have no problem with the thought that they may be watching over several beings at the same time, after all angels are made of energy and energy can be split, divided and redirected, so they would be able to be in many places at once.

‘Other’ Angels…

Well those who are not Guardian Angels anyway.

Again, I think these are beings of energy and light who have never incarnated into a corporeal form, be that human or anything else. They are not directly attached to any one soul, but can be called in to help and offer support to anyone who asks.

Now I want to be clear, I am not referencing angels from any particular religious standpoint. As you will know if you have been reading my missives for a while, I was raised Church of England (Protestant) in a non-practicing Catholic household, so any early influences probably will be from there. But I believe that these Angelic beings are there regardless of the faith, if any, you follow. I have spoken before about the vibrational fields we exist within, and my view is that these beings exist at a much higher vibrational frequency than us mere mortals. Meditation, prayer, and practice can all increase our connection, it is all about paying attention, listening or feeling for the nudges and signs and above all being grateful for the connection. Gratitude and acknowledgement for their presence and connection will strengthen the bond between you. This applies to Spirit Guides, passed over loved ones, as well as to angels.

The third on the list has an exercise where you can call in your spirit guides, perhaps try to see if you can call in your angels. There may be differences between how you experience them. for me I feel my spirit guides as a tingling around my right shoulder balde, and angels as a warmth comng towards me from the front. Have a play, be open to what you recieve and if you don’t feel anything, keep trying, and be open to what happens.
